In the U.S., the probability of being shot, 40 times greater than in Canada, England or Germany. But even the youngest school shooting in a movie theater in Aurora with twelve dead will not change - because most politicians are afraid of the powerful gun lobby.

The reaction is always the same: shock, disbelief, sadness, prayers, repression. The first four phases of this reaction cycle by American politicians now running in a few hours. For the last phase, they need a few weeks. So it was after the massacre at Columbine High School in 1999, the massacre at Virginia Tech University in 2007, the attack on the Congresswoman Gabby Gifford and her staff 2011th So it will again be the massacre in Aurora.

President Barack Obama leaves as his challenger, Mitt Romney campaign and the rest of the place is indeed gone. Both want to sympathize with victims and their families, pray for them, offer assistance to the perpetrators to justice is applied. But they emphasize that this was no time for politics - as well as have formerly done almost all the politicians for such killings. It now would be the only right time to ask how it could come back to such a terrible act, and how to prevent it could be? Now listen to the nation.

But: If the U.S. politicians, the now seriously questioned, as they would have to answer consider that citizens come to light in weapons. Weapons such as assault rifles and pump guns. Weapons, which hurt many people in a short time and can kill. Weapons like the AR15 assault rifle, the bullets are shot with such a balancing out of the barrel that they can pierce multiple bodies. With such a gun the offender in Aurora has committed his bloody attack.

The politicians dare to approach the arms issue, but not because they are against the powerful gun lobby, the National Riffle Association (NRA), fear. It prevents long stricter gun laws. Their main argument is very simple: do not bring weapons to people, people kill people. Yes, it goes further. After each massacre - so this time - there is any representative of the gun lobby, who postulated that it would not been so many deaths, if one of the victims had been armed, and therefore could have defended. Actually, every American should always be armed.

Moreover, it would have wanted the Founding Fathers as if they guaranteed in any Second Amendment right to bear arms - at least in the opinion of the majority of Americans, and a judgment of the conservative Supreme Court in 2008. Since then, in politics almost any criticism of the current law is silent weapons. Only a few brave MPs like Carolyn McCarthy, Democrat of New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, non-partisan stand against the political mainstream and can not be guided by the fear of losing votes, they should want to regulate the possession of weapons restrictive. The rest is silent and pray. Or concerned with the motives of the individual offender. It's simple.

It is in the U.S., the probability of being shot 40 times greater than in Canada, England or Germany. More than 30 000 people die in America each year by firearms. In half of the households is at least one gun in a drawer somewhere, and even assault rifles in many states are readily available and completely legal. In addition, you can now easily order ammunition on the Internet, as did the shooter of Aurora. However, instead of banning the sale of assault rifles or other weapons that can deliver 100 shots in a row without reloading, conservative politicians are proposing that it be allowed to carry weapons in airports or kindergartens.
