End of June deterred the "Wall Street Journal" with the message that the government had taken their chemical weapons in Syria from the depots. Western intelligence services had relevant information, the paper wrote. Unclear however, whether President Bashar al-Assad, the Arsenale spaces, because he wanted to use these weapons in the last stage of his political fight for survival against the rebels in their own country or because he feared that he was not the weapons of mass destruction can protect longer and in the could fall hands of the opposition.
As long as Assad of Syria still holds at the top?

Syria has one of the largest chemical weapons arsenals in the world. Assad had upgraded chemical to nuclear weapons to counter Israel's something. That is why Israel warns as always these days before the Syrian weapons of mass destruction. The arsenal of Syria includes virtually the entire range of chemical warfare by the deadly contact poison mustard gas that is corrosive to the skin, about cyanide, leading to suffocation, to the nerve agents sarin and VX, in very small doses are immediately fatal.
The prominent Syrian defector Nawaf al-Fares, Assad's last ambassador to Iraq, warned that the regime was fighting against his opponents ready for anything. Assad was actually used chemical weapons against its own people, but he would have to take into account dramatic political and military consequences. Domestically, he is likely to strengthen the opposition, at least morally, and sow more doubt among the members of his regime. In addition, internationally would immediately raise the question of military intervention to protect the Syrian population. Above all, President Barack Obama during the campaign would come under strong political pressure to intervene militarily if need be without a resolution of the UN Security Council in Syria.

Outlaw poison gas
Many states have created portfolios chemical weapons depots, but before the use of internationally banned weapons shrank back even dictators like Moammar Gadhafi in Libya. Neither the Iraqis Saddam Hussein reached into his custody, when U.S. troops overthrew him 2003rd
Use in the war against Iran from 1980 to 1988 but began Saddam poison gas. It will up to 100,000 Iranian soldiers have been killed, mostly with mustard gas. 20,000 Iranians were victims of nerve agents. In an attack on the Kurdish village of Halabja in 1988 Iraqi troops killed Saddam's 5,000 residents with poison gas.
Assad would also expect that his last remaining ally, Russia, China and possibly Iran, fall away from him. Whether Moscow and Beijing would agree to an intervention, however, is highly doubtful. But so far blocked by the two veto powers sanctions against Assad had used chemical weapons after a much better chance.

Notwithstanding the plans Assad presents with increasing disintegration of the regime, the question of how dangerous guns can be secured. There are unconfirmed reports that Jordanian special forces could take over this task with the support of the United States. But, according to military experts will be needed only 75,000 troops to guard the chemical weapons depots. Therefore, the concern in Washington is great that the chemical weapons arsenal could fall into the hands of Islamist groups and al-Qaeda, are fighting on the side of opposition to Assad.
